FLORENCE---Carolyn Thomas Brown, 70, of Florence, formerly of Columbia, died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence.
The daughter of the late Ada Williams Beach and Charlton Lewis Thomas, she was born in Columbia May 1, 1943. She was a graduate of Richland District One schools, including Dreher High School. She earned bachelor's and master's degrees in journalism from the University of South Carolina, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha and Kappa Tau Alpha.
