COLUMBIA - Harry Heyward Hornsby died at his home on Tuesday May 14, 2013m surrounded by his wife and children after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born May 13, 1934 in Columbia, South Carolina, Heyward was the son of the late Nora Driggers Hornsby and Harry William Hornsby. He graduated from Dreher High School in 1952 where he lettered in football and track. Upon entering the University of South Carolina, Heyward was offered both basketball and track scholarships.
