VERA THARPE Vera Johnson Tharpe, 85, widow of Leon Tharpe, died February 12, 2013 at Magnolia Manor. Born in Greenwood, February 9, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Rufus and Nellie Pearl McClain Johnson. Mrs. Tharpe was a graduate of Greenwood High School and retired from Greenwood Mills, Durst Plant. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.
