Born in Bad Homburg, Germany, he was a son of the late Ilse Demant and John Patrick O'Day Jr. He attended Dreher High School until moving to Germany where he graduated from Heidelberg High School. Mr. O'Day served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a graduate of Midlands Technical College. He retired from Car Quest following 25 years of service.
